Myself up Close and Personal

“Congratulations! Your baby is a girl,” it was on the 11^th day of November year 1996 when tears came running out from the eyes of a couple after hearing this statement from the doctor. Rod T. Navarro and Annalyn A. Navarro were the couple. They were very glad having their first born baby. That cute and charming baby was no other than me. I was born at Region I Medical Center, Dagupan City at exactly 5:45 in the evening. My grandparents were also happy having me as their first grandchild. My life is really full of fun and everything for me is worth remembering.

My mom told me that when I was still an infant, my grandmother had a hard time cradling me because she could not make me stop from crying. I was always crying said my mom. It’s good that I already matured now. My mother gave birth to my brother last June 12, 2001. I was really excited that time because I knew that being a sister is a wonderful thing. We are only four in our family and being with them is very enjoyable. We always go to church every Sunday and after the mass, we bond with each other. I love my family so much.

At the age of 3 ½ , I already started studying at Salasa Day Care Center. My mother was actually very strict and industrious in teaching me with my lessons in school. She really expected something from me. Because of that expectation, I had the determination in pursuing my goal and that was to rank first in our class. Well, I was not able to fail my mother. She was very happy for me at that moment. One event I couldn’t forget during my childhood days was when I was crowned as Miss Little Salasa Elementary School. My aunts abroad were really supportive that time. Being applauded by so many audiences was a great feeling. I won’t forget that. Another thing in my past was my 7^th birthday. That was my happiest birthday because there were lots of foods and there were games also.
Knowing my abilities, my mother decided to transfer me to a private school at Lingayen, Pangasinan. It was at JN Montessori, but unfortunately I was not satisfied with their teachings there. So, I told my mom to transfer me to Harvent School. There, I met new friends and I was really very thankful to my teachers because I was able to develop my comprehension and vocabulary skills, and even my grammar and speech.

Because of that school, I learned to appreciate English language. I graduated there from elementary but there were no honors and awards since it is a non-graded school.

I decided to take my high school life at Pangasinan National High School. Most people say that it is the premium school in Pangasinan so I expected more competitions. I was very grateful when I learned that I was able to pass the DOST Entrance Exam for the incoming freshmen. I belonged to Section B when I was a freshman and honestly, I am not contented being there. So I studied hard so that when I go to second year high school, I will be with the Section A. Well, I was really happy for my efforts are not wasted. I now belong to Section A. Being in the junior class is very tiring but very enjoying also. I love the teachers in the third year level because they are not so strict unlike in the second year level. I am currently enjoying my life as a high school student and I am very active in joining seminars like the Debate Seminar and the Divisions Schools’ Leaders’ Congress. Oh! I almost forgot my interests and hobbies. Making PowerPoint Presentations and taking pictures interest me a lot. I really don’t get bored when I do them. My hobbies are reading English novels and books, communicating with my friends through text messaging, and chatting with my friends in Facebook, Twitter and Yahoo Messenger. I really like going to those websites because they don’t vex me and they are not boring.

Now as you can see, half of my life is devoted in school and that is because I value my education so much. And I believe in the saying that, “Learning is a treasure which accompanies its owner everywhere.”
